Description

Part of the same family as Frankincense and Myrrh, Elemi has been used traditionally to support the appearance of the skin.

It is ANTI-CATARRHAL, ANTI-DEPRESSANT, ANTI-INFECTIOUS, ANTISEPTIC, EXPECTORANT, and SEDATIVE.

Folklore: The name Elemi comes from an Arabic phrase meaning “as above, so below”. This helps us to understand its action on both the emotional and spiritual planes. Because of the similar properties and uses, it has come to be known as the “poor man’s frankincense”.

Historical Uses: Native to the Philippine islands and the Moluccas, it is used locally for skin conditions and respiratory problems. Anciently, the Egyptians used the oil that was distilled from the resin in part of the embalming process.

Possible Uses: This oil may help with BRONCHITIS (chronic), CHEST INFECTIONS, childbirth, coughs, cuts, gangrene, INFLAMMATION (breast and uterus), pregnancy, rashes (allergic), rejuvenation, SKIN (chapped), thymus gland, tissue (builds), ulcers, wounds, and WRINKLES.

Application: Apply to VITA FLEX POINTS and/or directly on AREA of concern; DIFFUSE. May be used as a COMPRESS for infected wounds and abscesses. May also be diluted for use during a MASSAGE, or added to a BATH.
