Patchouli oil (Pogostemon cablin) is carefully extracted through steam distillation of a low, bushy shrub native to tropical regions in Southeast Asia. Although the plant is part of the mint family, Patchouli essential oil has a powerful, musky scent, and because of its complex aroma, Patchouli oil uses often include perfumes, soaps, incense, and essential oil blends.

With a rich history and unique aromatic profile, Patchouli oil is perfect for the free spirit. Use its calming, relaxing aroma during meditation or yoga practice or apply topically to improve the appearance of skin.

It is ANTI-INFECTIOUS, ANTI-INFLAMMATORY, ANTIFUNGAL, ANTISEPTIC, ANTITOXIC, ASTRINGENT, DECONGESTANT, DEODORANT, DIURETIC, INSECTICIDAL, STIMULANT (digestive), and TONIC.

Historical Uses: For centuries, the Asian people have used patchouli to fight infection, cool fevers, tone the skin and body, and as an antidote for insect and snake bites. It was also used to treat colds, headaches, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and halitosis (bad breath).

Possible Uses: ALLERGIES (skin), BUG REPELLENT, DERMATITIS/ECZEMA, hemorrhoids, jock itch, snake bites, WRINKLES, ACNE, appetite (curbs), cellulite, congestion, dandruff, depression, relieves itching from HIVES, mastitis, skin conditions, UV radiation (protects against), water retention, weeping wounds, and weight reduction.
